Foundation News
Lent has begun, let's talk about it. Next week we're contemplating contemplation.
LENT: Learning, Engaging, Negotiating, Transforming
THIS SUNDAY, 7PM
David will be leading this session exploring Lent as a 40 day journey:
a time of turning inwards and outwards, with stimulus for new ideas and insights;
a time that offers space for more life, not less;
the invitation to make a journey of transformation, discovering ourselves more fully in God;
a time that offers so much more than giving up chocolate!
The service will include some short readings and reflections, art, music and some silence, and quotes & questions to stimulate good conversation.
Contemplation & Action
NEXT SUNDAY, 7PM
Lovely Liz will be leading us in service all about contemplation. We’ll spend some time reflecting on what contemplation is, how a contemplative stance can impact how we see, hear, think and experience our lives and…well… doing some actual contemplation!
Flood the path with light
Sorry that this is arriving late, normal service will resume next week!
I have a simple prayer for you, sent to me by David, sent to him by Phillip - a beautiful meditation on hope when things feel a little bleak. It’s attributed to St. Augustine of Hippo and it goes like this:
God of life, there are days when the burdens we carry
are heavy on our shoulders and weigh us down,
when the road seems dreary and endless,
the skies grey and threatening,
when our lives have no music in them,
our hearts lonely, our souls losing their courage.Flood the path with light.
Turn our eyes to where the skies are full of promise;
tune our hearts to brave music;
give us the sense of comradeship with heroes and saints of every age.So quicken our spirits,
that we may be able to encourage the souls of all,
who journey with us on the road of life, to your honour and glory. Amen.
Go gently, and I’ll see you on Sunday.
Love,
Andy
